01 / 02Common questions

How long does an authentication take?
Standard is 12 to 24 hours, which is an estimate. Express is 6 hours, and that one is a contractual deadline: if we miss it, the express fee comes back to you and the standard fee stays due.
What happens if the verdict is “inconclusive”?
It means our experts could not reach a determination. If you provided everything we asked for, the order is refunded. If the photographs were insufficient and we asked for more that never arrived, it is not.
Can I get a refund because I disagree with the verdict?
No. You are paying for an examination and a documented opinion, not for a particular answer. What is refundable is set out in our Terms, section 11.
Who can see my photographs?
Our experts, and anyone you send the certificate link to — the photographs appear on the public certificate so a buyer can compare. You can turn that off for any certificate, at any time, from My certificates.
Does the certificate say who I am?
Never. A certificate shows the item, the photographs and the finding. It carries no name, no email and no address.
A seller sent me a certificate number. How do I check it?
Enter it on the Verify page, or open the link directly. Only certificates hosted on ilizy.com are real — a PDF or a screenshot can be edited and does not update if a certificate is later revoked.
Is the certificate a guarantee?
No. It records what our experts concluded from the photographs, on the date shown. ilizy does not insure, indemnify or buy back any item.
How do I sign in?
There is no password. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we send you a link that works once. It reaches you on any device.
