Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 10/08/2026 Last updated: 10/08/2026
1Who we are
These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of the website ilizy.com (the "Site") and the authentication services offered through it (the "Services"), provided by:
wedey OÜ ("ilizy", "we", "us", "our") Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Harju maakond, Estonia Registry code (registrikood): 17153535Represented by: Yanis Aliouchouche
2Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account, placing an order, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract to use the Services. The Services are not intended for minors.
The Services are currently offered to individual consumers only, for personal (non-commercial) use. They are not offered to businesses at this time. We accept customers worldwide; wherever you are located, these Terms and your local mandatory consumer-protection rights (where applicable) govern our relationship.
3The Service — what ilizy does (and does not) provide
3.1 ilizy provides a remote authentication opinion on luxury items, based on photographs and information you submit. Our analysis combines AI-assisted image analysis with review by human experts. Each completed order results in a documented verdict and a digital certificate.
3.2 The verdict is a professional, expert opinion — not a guarantee. It reflects our reasoned assessment based solely on the images and information you provide. It is not:
- a warranty or guarantee that an item is genuine or counterfeit;
- a financial guarantee, insurance, or valuation of the item;
- a legal determination, appraisal, or certification within the meaning of any regulation;
- a substitute for an in-person or laboratory examination.
3.3 A verdict may take one of three forms:
- Authentic — the item matches the markers we are able to assess.
- Not authentic — the item shows indications of being counterfeit.
- Inconclusive — the photos are insufficient, or the item falls outside our current scope.
3.4 Because authentication is a matter of skilled opinion, opinions may reasonably differ. If you disagree with our opinion, you may seek a second opinion elsewhere. Disagreement with the outcome does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund (see Section 11).
3.5 We assess only what can reasonably be determined from the images and information provided. We do not test internal components, materials, metals or gemstones, and we may be unable to reach a reliable opinion on rare, aged, altered, customised or exceptionally well-made items. By using the Services you acknowledge and accept these limitations.
3.6 We may vary, limit, or withdraw any part of the Services, or decline any order, at our reasonable discretion.
4Your account
4.1 To use the Services you must create an account with accurate, current and complete information, and keep it up to date.
4.2 You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
4.3 You may not create multiple accounts, share your account, or use another person's account without authorisation.
5Orders and formation of the contract
5.1 You place an order by submitting your item's details and the requested photographs, and by paying the applicable price. Your submission is an offer to purchase the Service.
5.2 The contract is formed when we accept your order and confirm it. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order (for example where the item is out of scope, the request appears fraudulent, or photos cannot enable an assessment). If we cancel before work has started, we refund any amount paid for that order.
6Price and payment
6.1 Prices are those displayed on the Site at the time of your order. Any applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout.
6.2 Payment is due in full at the time of the order and is processed by our third-party payment provider stripe. We do not store your full card details. Your payment is also governed by your card issuer's and the provider's terms.
6.3 You agree to provide accurate billing information and to promptly update it as needed.
6.4 We may revise our prices at any time; changes do not affect orders already accepted.
7Right of withdrawal (consumers)
7.1 If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you normally have the right to withdraw from a service contract within 14 days without giving a reason.
7.2 However, because our Service is typically delivered within 12–24 hours, the order flow will ask you to expressly request that we begin the Service immediately and to acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed. Where you have given this request and acknowledgement and we have fully performed the Service, your right of withdrawal is extinguished, in accordance with applicable EU consumer law.
7.3 If you have not requested immediate performance, or the Service has not yet begun, you may withdraw within the 14-day period and receive a refund of amounts paid for the not-yet-performed Service.
7.4 If you are a consumer outside the EU/EEA, any statutory cancellation or cooling-off rights are governed by the mandatory law of your country of residence, where applicable. The immediate-performance mechanism in 7.2 applies to you in the same way.
8Your obligations and acknowledgements
8.1 You must provide clear, accurate and complete photographs and information, following the photo guide for your item. You are responsible for the quality and sufficiency of what you submit.
8.2 Insufficient photos. If we request additional or higher-quality photos and you do not provide them, we may issue an "Inconclusive" verdict. Inability or unwillingness to provide requested photos does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund (see Section 11). If requested photos are not provided within [30] days, the order may be closed as inconclusive.
8.3 You confirm that you have the right to submit the photographs and information you upload, that they do not infringe any third party's rights, and that any persons shown have consented. You are solely responsible for your submitted content.
8.4 You must provide any information you know that is relevant to authenticity (e.g. known issues, prior sale history, repairs or modifications).
9Turnaround times
9.1 Our standard turnaround is an estimate, typically 12 to 24 hours after we receive sufficient photos and information — not a guaranteed deadline. Volume, item complexity and the need for a second expert review may affect timing. Exceeding the estimate does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund.
9.2 Express Option. If you choose the paid express option, you will receive the result within 6 hours at the latest. If we are unable to provide you with the express verdict within the stated timeframe, we will refund the additional fees associated with the express option (the standard authentication fee remains due).
10The verdict and the certificate
10.1 On completion you receive a documented verdict and a unique digital certificate, verifiable by number or QR code, without exposing your personal data publicly.
10.2 The certificate records our opinion as at the date of issue, based on the materials submitted. It is not a guarantee, insurance, or financial commitment, and confers no rights against ilizy beyond those in these Terms.
10.3 No third-party reliance. The verdict and certificate are provided to you, for your own use. We accept no liability to any third party (including any buyer, seller, marketplace or platform) who relies on them, and you are responsible for how you use or share them.
10.4 We retain the intellectual property in our verdicts, certificates, reports, methods and know-how. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use your certificate for your own lawful purposes, including sharing it in connection with a resale of the item it concerns. You may not alter, forge, or misrepresent a certificate.
11Refunds
11.1 We will refund the authentication fee where:
- you cancel before any work has started; or
- After providing all the requested information and photos, we are unfortunately unable to make a determination.
11.2 We will not refund merely because the verdict is not the outcome you hoped for, or because you disagree with our opinion, or because you did not provide sufficient photos.
11.3 Nothing in this Section affects your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law, which prevail over any conflicting term.
12Intellectual property and your content
12.1 All content on the Site and Services (including software, text, design, certificates, and our authentication methods) is owned by or licensed to ilizy and protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, reverse-engineer, scrape, or create derivative works except as permitted by law or these Terms.
12.2 Your content. You retain your rights in the photographs and information you submit ("User Content"). You grant ilizy a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your User Content strictly as necessary to provide the Services to you and to keep records of the authentication.
12.3 Any use of your User Content beyond providing the Service — including to improve or train our AI models or build a proprietary reference database — will be done only on a lawful basis and, where required, with your separate, informed consent, as described in the Privacy Policy. We will not use identifiable photographs for such purposes without a proper legal basis.
13Data protection
13.1 We process personal data (including your account details, order information, and submitted photographs) in accordance with the GDPR and our Privacy Policy [link]. Photographs are treated as confidential and used to perform the authentication, subject to Section 12.3.
13.2 The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, our legal bases, retention periods, any processors we use.
14Acceptable use
14.1 You agree not to: break the law; submit knowingly false items or information; commit fraud; infringe others' rights; interfere with or attack the Site (e.g. malware, scraping, denial-of-service); attempt to access other accounts; or use the Services other than for legitimate authentication.
14.2 We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with lawful authority requests.
14.3 We expect respectful communication. Abusive, threatening or harassing conduct may lead to suspension or termination of your account.
15Limitation of liability
15.1 We provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. Subject to the mandatory limits below, the verdict is an opinion and we do not warrant its absolute accuracy.
15.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except for liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent or gross negligence, and any non-excludable consumer rights):
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity, goodwill or data;
- we are not liable to any third party relying on a verdict or certificate;
- our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid to us for that order.
15.3 We are not liable for outcomes caused by insufficient, inaccurate or incomplete information or photographs provided by you, or by circumstances that could not reasonably be identified from the materials submitted.
16Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to hold ilizy harmless from third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of a verdict or certificate, or your submission of content you were not entitled to submit.
17Suspension and termination
17.1 You may close your account at any time.
17.2 We may suspend or terminate your access where you breach these Terms, where required by law, or to protect the Services or other users. Termination does not affect verdicts or certificates already issued, or rights and obligations that survive by their nature (e.g. IP, liability, governing law).
18Changes
18.1 We may change the Services and these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify registered users. Changes do not apply retroactively to orders already accepted. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
19Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural events, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, epidemics or pandemics, and failures of energy, telecommunications, payment or other third-party systems. Obligations are suspended for the duration of the event.
20Complaints and dispute resolution
20.1 If you have a complaint, please contact us first at legal@wedey.ai ; we aim to resolve issues promptly and in good faith.
20.2 Consumers in the EU/EEA may also refer a dispute to the Estonian Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon), and to any applicable EU online dispute-resolution mechanism. This does not affect your right to bring proceedings before the competent courts.
20.3 Consumers outside the EU/EEA may have access to dispute-resolution or small-claims mechanisms under the law of their country of residence; this Section does not limit those rights.
21Governing law and jurisdiction
21.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia.
21.2 If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer-protection rights of the law of your country of residence. Where those rights are more protective, they prevail. You may bring proceedings before the competent courts of your place of residence, and nothing here deprives you of that right.
21.3 Because we sell to consumers worldwide, we do not impose a single exclusive forum on consumers or require arbitration. No US-style arbitration, class-action waiver, or foreign-law clause applies.
22General
22.1 Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the provision is applied to the maximum extent permitted. 22.2 No waiver. Failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. 22.3 Assignment. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours where your rights are not prejudiced. 22.4 Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the Services. 22.5 Language. These Terms are provided in English. 22.6 Electronic acceptance. By clicking "I accept" (or equivalent) you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
